Black ink for a RED lightsaber pen? That's just intentionally counter-intuitive. I would have bought blue, green, and purple lightsaber pens, if they wrote in the corresponding ink.

Star Wars Jedi Force C-3po and R2-D2 Action Figures Review

These are great toys.R2-D2 has little tools that pop out when you press the top of his dome and C-3PO is fully poseable with light-up eyes.

They are tough as nails and really have a certain spark about them.R2-D2 also fits into the large X-wing fighter toy along with Luke Skywalker.

If you've got a 3-5 year old who likes Star Wars,get him/her one of these toys (Chewbacca, Luke and Darth Vader (both with light-up lightsabres) are also available) and you'll be the hero for a while.

Star Wars Basic Figure Darth Revan Review

I never saw this coming! It brought me great joy to have one of my favorite video game characters in action figure form. The figure of Revan is unfortunately male - for those of you who played Revan as a woman, petition for a variant.

Articulation is low especially in the leg area due to the "skirt". The cowl can be removed but all that gives you is a bald white head with a Sith Mask on so why bother?

Revan also comes with two Sith lightsabers - It's actually the same light-saber one lit, one un-lit depending upon your preference and the stand and 30th edition coin.

A definite must have that I had the most fortunate luck of finding.

Now if only there was a female variant.

This Lego set captivates children and adults alike. Lego has paid a lot of attention to detail in making this toy, the rovers' wheels have a suspension mechanism, the robotic arm moves in 5 directions just like the real rover's arms and so does the high gain antenna mounted on the rover.

I want to start by saying I have a couple of fx sabers (all of them except for Luke's and Yoda's) and I never thought I would buy this one.I felt the design looked too much like Luke's to spend a hundred dollars on both, but I ended up getting a very good deal on the Obi Wan saber this past weekend and I couldnt resist.Acutually I did resist, but I think the clerk used a Jedi mind trick on me.I ended up buying mine for $80.As soon as I put the batteries in it and lit it up, this saber instantly became my favorite.I was in a dim lit bedroom and the Obi saber lit up the entire room with its blue glow.I read alot of reviews about how the amount of batteries a fx saber takes determines the brightness of the blade and the volume of the effects.I did compare this saber with the vader, darth maul, and mace windu ones and the blades look like they're shinning with the same brightness... I think the color of the blades is making the difference.The blue ones light up the room better then the darker colors of red and purple, no different than a white light bulb that lights a room better than a red light bulb of the same voltage.Each hilt is designed differently, so the sound comes out differently in each one.This is a very satifsying collectors item or toy for any star wars fan.Again, the Obi Wan is my favorite so far, but I did just buy it so... just take my word that they are all worth the $90-$100 price tag.

I'm a sucker for R2 units (and the action figures thereof), and this one's no exception.R3-T7 shows some advancements in the standard molding and jointing of the R2 droid figures, but it's for a good cause - hiding the figure's joints within a more detailed replica of the actual movie prop.I'm still a bit dubious on the merits of the translucent "lightning"/"laser blast" items included with the figures from the new film, but thankfully they're all removable.The detailing is taken to a new level of excellence - trust me, this IS the droid you're looking for.

AOTC Jango Fett Final Battle Review

This Jango is kinda cool. He has his dual blaster pistols, but they don't have a holder to stick them in (like Kamino Escape). He comes with the flame thrower, and if you pull it back in his arm it will launch like a rocket. His jetpack can come off, and you could even put Boba Fetts on if you'd like. His head can come off, and is held on with a magnet. He can bend his arms, his right elbow, and his legs. His knee caps can bend and swivel as well. Overall, I like this Jango Fett figure better then the other 3 I own, even if he can't holster his pistols.

It took way too long for there to be a Ewoks pack for the galactic heroes series. I never got to get the original speeder pack that came out with Wicket so I'm stoked that they re-released that figure. My set is currently complete and I will continue to purchase every galactic heroes set that comes out and you should too.

Think about What Jesus Would Do. Well I'll tell you what he would do he'd buy these toys and put them on display. Buddha would do the same thing and the Dali Lama has every set including some variants. You know who doesn't like these toys... Hitler. You don't want to be like him now do you.

This is a well constructed toy that our kids love. We got 2 of them since we have twins and they both love to fly them around the house. The canopy comes off and that was a little frustrating at first since they pulled it off about every 2 minutes - then they learned to put it back on themselves and now it is not an issue.

I would recommend also purchasing an action figure to go into it as it seems that our boys don't like flying without a pilot.

My little girl wanted a "Star Wars Ship" for Christmas. My wife and decided on this Speeder because we wanted something that would carry several action figures and be easy enough load for a 4-year-old. This speeder works great. Our girl loves it and plays with it all the time.

I rated it as a 4 because it's not well made. I think it will break before it's well used.The laser cannon works poorly. And the stickers they have you put on the vehicle for set up are tiny and a pain to stick on. But, my little girl hasn't complained at all. She loves it.

Star Wars Starfighter Vehicle Tri-Droid Fighter Review

This vehicle is pretty cool - it has firing missles and "buzz droids" that can come out of a compartment in the center sphere.For space battles, this is good stuff.

That said, figures don't go in this one.I suppose you could shove a guy into that center sphere, but there's no actual "seat" for a guy.(In all fairness, people didn't ride in them in the movie, either.)

The "buzz droids" that come out of the center compartment are kind of small and pretty easy to lose.There are two "open" droids that can attach to the Obi-Wan or Anakin Jedi Starfighter and there are three "closed" ones that are basically small plastic marbles.They roll about as well as marbles, too, so if you cut 'em loose they roll pretty easily under the couch, under the refrigerator... pretty much anywhere that you'll either never find them again or generally be unable to reach.

That said, it's still a lot of fun.Just don't lose your buzz droids and you'll have a great time.I'm glad I picked it up.

Star Wars Original Trilogy Collection Stormtrooper 12" Action Figure Review

This is, by far, the best-looking 12" Stormtrooper Hasbro (and before that, Kenner) has produced to date. Maybe not as cool as the Marmit figures, but then not nearly as expensive either. The sculpt is very nicely done, particularly the head which can often be, on 12" figures at least, wonky in terms of proportion (12" Zam Wesell, anyone?). The packaging is very nice, if you like to keep your figures packaged, but I like to open mine and stand them up. This is where the figures shortcomings are exposed. The added articulation is very cool. The figure can be posed in more "natural" positions than the somewhat stiff POTF2 version of the Stormtrooper. Sadly several crucial joints are very weak and make display of the figure a challenge. The "kung-fu" grip in the hands is pretty loose causing the gun to fall out of his hand. A lot. Scavenging a small clear rubber-band from a 3-3/4" figure and wrapping it around the Stormtroopers gun-hand a couple of times helps and isn't too noticeable from a short distance. The biggest problem is the ankles. Unless one balances the figure perfectly, it's face-plant city. Mine went down dozens of times--sometimes immediately, sometimes after several hours of seeming to stand just fine. He is now leaning on a shelf, tipped just past center, with the wall supporting most of his weight.

It's a very cool figure (now that he's wedged somewhere secure) and probably in short supply in some markets (Hasbro's distribution is decidedly uneven) so if you get a chance, grab one. Well worth the money. You'll get thirty clams worth of play/frustration just trying to stand him up.

Star Wars CMG Starship Battles Starter Set Review

Reviewer's note:I wrote a similar review for the boosters, so please excuse me if you see it twice.However, since I didn't know where most buyers would start, I figured it was best to provide the review under both the boosters and the starters to be safe.That said...

I'm a big fan of Star Wars minis (especially Rebel Storm), and I couldn't wait to get my starter and boosters for the new Star Wars Starship Battles minis game.Each starter set comes with 10 ships (including two exclusive large/rare ships, and eight random ships). The game/set includes 60 different ships (30 "light side" and 30 "dark side" -- approximately 1/2 are from the original trilogy, and the other half are from the prequel).I have to admit, the ships look pretty cool (especially the smaller ones like the Millennium Falcon, Salve 1, TIE Fighters, TIE Interceptor, TIE Bomber, B-Wings, X-Wings, Y-Wings, etc.), and as I first read the instructions and looked at the ship stats cards, I was looking very forward to playing.In the end (after playing several games with a friend), however, I was largely disappointed with the game itself.Though there are a few interesting twists (like the command effects),the game is pretty basic, and unfortunately does not allow much room for strategy and/or creativity.

The best advice I can give you is to begin with the starter set, which comes with everything you'll need to play (including two exclusive rare ships -- the big guns in the set, eight randomized common and uncommon ships, map, instructions, command cards, damage counters, D20, etc.).You MIGHT also want to buy a couple of boosters (each booster includes seven randomized ships -- one rare, two uncommon, and 4 common).This way your buy-in isn't too bad; otherwise, it can get very expensive very quickly.You'll definitely get at least a few good games out of it, and if you like the game more than I did, you can easily buy more boosters (that is much better than the alternative of buying a ton of boosters and not being very happy with the game).Also, if you are interested the minis themselves (i.e., to collect them, for use with the D20 role playing game, or to use with some other Star Wars game/scenario), you'll probably be mostly happy with what Wizards of the Coast came up with.

In sum, the game/rules gets 3 stars, and the minis get 4-5 stars (rounded up to a 4 star rating overall).Hope this helps!

30683 Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Didj Review

My 7 year old son is in love with the Didj my dad got him, and he only had the Jetpack Heroes that was included. So, I decided to add to his repertoire. After all, I know the Leapster wasn't much without the cartridges and the included games weren't ever nearly as fun as the ones we bought.

I was a little concerned that the Star Wars game would have the same math concepts he worked on in Jetpack Heroes, but it is different. Instead of addition, subtraction, multiplication, my son gets to work on fractions, place value and geometry.

I tried it myself and there is enough math to keep my son thinking. He gets a to be a jedi with a light saber who goes around a maze of hallways killing bad guys and while trying to survive. He has to stop once in awhile and answer questions like which pie chart shows 1/10 colored in or what number in 693 is in the hundreds place or how many sides does a pentagon have.

For those worried about violence, it is cartoon violence against robots and there is no blood. I'd say it`s about as violent as Tom and Jerry, except the robots die (disappear). That may not be enough for some, but at least you know what you are getting into.

My son loved his Leapster, but he said he's not going back. Didj is much better. He likes being able to customize the game. I like being able to track his progress and help choose what concepts he's working on.

This piece is just starting to make the rounds as I am reviewing it. This toy represents the scene in which Anakin Skywalker becomes the Darth Vader we all know.

The set comes with a main figure and a swiveling operating table that locks the figure into place using spring-loaded arm clamps. Additional pieces include: 1 removable Vader helmet, a removable glove for his right arm and 2 detachable lower legs and 1 detachable arm as well as a lightsaber.

The base of the set has connection points that will allow you to connect it into the rear portion of the Mustafar playset as well as a variety of stands that have been shipping with the Collection 2 action figures.

Saesee Tiin is yet another well-made Jedi for the Episode III toy line.He is one of the stronger figures of the toy line due to having a good sculpt and excellent articulation, including knees. He has a cloth skirt which allows for total movement of the legs.He also stands up pretty well without his base.The sheared elbow joints are slightly goofy and you have to fiddle around with them a little bit to get the arms to look right in certain positions.He can fit comfortably in a Jedi Starfighter (Episode II), which is good because that is supposed to be one of his specialties.In my opinion the perfect Saesee Tiin figure would be this particular sculpt wearing the uniform from the Clone Wars version, but this figure here as he is comes very close.Highest recommendations, get him for your Jedi collection!

I have been a fan of the Star Wars Christmas album (cheesy as it is) since it was released back in 1981 so when I saw this was released I had to have it. It isn't based on the album but it's close enough for me. The hat and jacket are NOT removeable on 3PO neither are the antlers on R2 but that's not a big deal. It's good Star Wars fan fun for those that have any level of Star Wars theme going at Christmas.

The other day my son wanted a couple of the Star wars mini figures that looked to be no longer available. Ok Ask Yoda is not desgined to turn your little jedi into a brain surgeon but it does break up the monotony of my desk. The Old Magic 8 Ball of yesterday has been updated with a new Star Wars theme. This re-release of Ask Yoda has been given a new nicely made cloak, and detailed belt. His blue eyes appear very life-like, and comes complete with little tufts of white hiar around his soft skinned pointed ears. Simply Ask Yoda a question, and give his little hand a gentle squueze, and listen to the sage-like wisdom of the ancient Jedi Master. He says a variety of different phrases, and even has several hidden "Easter Egg" phrases that he can speak. I was told by Yoda that I had squeezed his little hand to hard, and just about fell down laughing. I'm not sure if the kids will go for this, but i think that everyone in the office will get a kick out of him. I am not sure if Frank Oz was the person behind the voice-over and to me Ask Yoda sounds more like the Yoda from the CLone Wars animated shorts. Just in case you were wondering.

Star Wars Legacy Collection Build A Droid - Ugnaught BN No. 43 Review

Hasbro continue their new Legacy Collection for 2009 with wave two consisting of figures from The Empire Strikes Back. Continuing the success of last year's build-a-droid each one in this wave comes with a component to build the silver protocol droid U-3PO.
The next figure in the line is #43: Ugnaught. Collectors should not that there are two versions of this figure available. One is decked out with a work apron on and the other is an Ugnaught that you see in a grey suit walking in the corridors of Bespin.
The only other Ugnaught figures released were in a twin pack in the POTF line in 1998 and this one is superior to that issue in every way.
He has head (rotational and vertical), shoulder (rotational and abductional), elbow (rotational and vertical), forearm (rotational), torso (rotational), hips (vertical) and knee (rotational and vertical) articulation which gives him a good 19 ranges of movement.
He comes equipped with a white tool case and a console which would fit with any Bespin diorama or goes well with the POTJ 2001 Carbon Freezing Chamber playset.
There is also the left arm of U-3PO as well, the remainder of which is with figures #38 - #42 in the current line.
A great little figure and a must have for those Bespin dioramas.

This beautifully crafted figure from Hasbro's "Star Wars Unleashed" line makes an excellent display piece for the serious Star Wars fan. Frozen in a pose taken from the heat of her final battle, red-bladed lighsabers in hand (gifts from Count Dooku himself) and a cloud of dust behind her, the ferocity of this dark warrior is magnificently captured. Asajj is depicted here in a realistic style to better match the "Unleashed" figures that have come before her rather than with the smooth and stylized look of the "Clone Wars" animated series in which she made her saga debut. The plastic sculpture comes in two parts, the base and the figure itself, which connect by way of short metal pegs in the feet and holes in the base. While it can be tricky to get the back foot into its hole, the figure manages to stay in position quite well nevertheless. The result is an elegantly gruesome piece of affordable, mass-produced Star Wars art that any true fan should appreciate. The lightsaber blades are removable for a different look if desired, which may be helpful if your figure's blades are not straight enough for your scrupulous eye.

Star Wars X-Wing Japanese Collectible 1/72-Scale Model Kit Review

I usually prefer to build larger models, but this kit is so well detailed and accurate (for its size) that I just had to get a few when I saw some built-up examples at my modeling club.

It is "tiny" (1/72 scale, about 5 or 6 inches long when built) but it is a very nice kit and obviously won't take up a lot of space!

Among its virtues are decals for several different ships (Red 2, 3, 5) and a few alternate parts (Fine Molds realized that not all the X-Wings were exactly the same -some parts were slightly different, such as the engine exhausts on Red 2 and the engine inlet covers). Another nice touch was the inclusion of not just an R2 unit, but also an R4 head (just in case you want to build Red 4 or your own variant) and a pilot figure.

When built the wings are positionable and you can build it with the landing gear up or down. A very well designed and executed plastic model kit! (not a toy!)

Star Wars Luke Skywalker Child Costume Review

In my experience of costume purchasing, you are never going to get a high quality item. They charge a lot of money because they can, and more often than not, you get an item that could be made better. I purchased the Jango Fett costume for my daughter last year, it was $70, and not even close to being worth it. But what can you do, other than taking up a sewing class to learn to do it yourself. No time for that.
The other problem I have had with the costumes is their sizing methods. Never work. I wonder what method they have for coming up with their sizes. I always have to alter them.
This Luke costume is what I have come to expect, thin cheap fabric, terrible stitching, thrown together look. The most disappointing feature is that the top does not open. I thought it would go on jacket style, but it is a pullover. It is also more brown than the photo shows, not white or light tan. The belt is very flimsy, and I will have to do some stitching to fix some errors to fix the entire costume.
But you know what is most important? That my kids love it. And they do. So despite my pickiness, my feelings about the quality and work I will have to do to make it right, my son lit up when he saw it and can't wait to wear it. He will join his sister, who is Princess Leia this year, and they will be smiling from ear to ear. That is what matters.

Tycho Celchu was a former imperial pilot who defected and became more prominent in the Rogue/Wraith squadron series that followed the movies as Wedge's second in command - He was later accused of treason but managed to clear his name with the help of Rogue Squadron.

The good news is, he's famous to Star Wars fanatics, which makes this first ever figurine of Tycho a collector's item and a must have.

The figure in question comes with the 30th Anniversary collector's coin, an A-wing pilot helmet, and a pilot's skull-cap. Unfortunately, Tycho cannot wear the skull cap and the helmet at the same time - which is what you're supposed to do. Further, the skull cap doesn't hug the head of the figure and looks like he picked up a hankerchief and draped it across his head. The A-Wing helmet looks better.

It's a fine and sturdy figurine, one of the growing number of Star Wars figurines to veer away from the standard rotating shoulder joints and use ball joints instead. This allows him to pull his arms close enough to pilot most Star Wars craft out for sale - a feat other Star Wars pilot figurines such as Wedge Antilles and Biggs Darklighter cannot do. Of particular note is the smug grin of a very confident pilot on his face and the Rebel insignia on his shoulder pauldron.

A must have for any Rogue Squadron collection or any Star Wars fanatic who is particular about the history of Star Wars. This is no extra, he's an important and pivotal character in the total picture of the Star Wars universe.

To respond to the last review, since the artwork is unavaiable in any other format, to have it damaged in this way is negligent, to say the least.I received mine in the same bent condition (with dented bubble), and even though I open my figures as well, it's always nice to have the cardback to display... that is, whenever it's in any condition to be displayed at all.

bought this for my six year old for halloween '08. he continues to play it 6 months later and loves it. my problem with this costume and robe that i purchased with it (separately and at additional cost!) is that for the price it was as cheaply made as it could be. Durability is so poor that the waist band came undone shortly after halloween. my son still loved the costume and wears it a lot even after halloween. Also, the decorative belt that comes with it is way too big!

5 stars for fun, 1 star for quality of product.

If you don't mind spending money on something that will fall apart then go ahead.

With all of the packaging and figure versions of Star Wars figures that have come out I'd have to say that this version and style is the best. The packaging is unconventional and eye catching and just looks good as do the figures. Their faces look like the character and the detail has been upped over previous versions. The coin is kind of gymmicky but to each their own. I prefer this series over most of the previous with the exception of the classic card series.

This is a very cool toy.I got mine ten years ago.It's broken now, but it was fun for years, until I invited some kids over to my house, and they got way too excited about playing Star Wars by smashing Darth Maul's head.It would have lasted years more under normal use.

This is a 2x2 version of the Rubik's Cube.I think it's a little more challenging than the standard Rubik's Ice Cube or Rubik's Junior Puzzle, because cubes in the back of Darth Maul's head look very similar.

It's also basically another version of the Rubik's UFO, Rubik's World, or the Homer Simpson Head, all of which are 2x2 Rubik's cubes, but it's a million times more fun because it's Star Wars..

Here is a figure that leaves you wondering what the designer was thinking. You get a gun - Chewbacca's cross-bow-type weapon. But the "cross" part of the "bow" doesn't connect. There is no obvious way to attack it to the stock of the weapon. I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how. You can't tell from the photograph on the package. Near as I can tell, it isn't even the same gun as provided in the package. I'm glad I picked this one up for my collection and not for my son because he'd be disappointed when daddy couldn't put the gun together. And I can't. Any hints in this direction would be most welcome!

But even then, Chewie won't hold the weapon. There is no way to make it stay in his hands. I can only assume that the image on the package has been altered or heavily Photo Shopped or glue was employed in vast quantities, and maybe a modeling knife.

On the plus side, the detail is decent. The character stands up. But those would be the least of my expectations. On the whole, this figure fails to meet them. I can't recommend it.

Star Wars E3 BF27 MACE WINDU Review

First of all, Mace is extremely difficult to find..it took me almost a month to finally track one down at a local toys r us. But boy, was the wait worth it. The figure actually looks like Sam Jackson, which was a huge plus, and has a stone-faced expression on the face, which is appropriate for the character and much better than the "screaming" version from the AOTC line. Very poseable and has a cool feature..he "throws" off some force lightning from his shoulders. It also comes with his cool signature purple electrum lightsaber. Overall, its a great figure and if you manage to find one, you should consider yourself lucky. Also, its fun to customize Mace with the robe off of Agen Kolar's figure for a more "complete" feel. Don't forget to pick up Yoda as well so you have both heads of the Jedi Council!

The dress was a little cheaply made for the price, but my daughter didn't care one bit. She loved it. The wig is super cute. The sizing seems to be right on--my daughter was on the line in terms of height/weight, and I took a gamble that Small wouldn't be too small (she is exactly 48 inches tall); this was the only size in stock at the time, so we went with it. The wig was definitely snug, but we were able to tuck all her hair under it and it stayed on. The dress just fit as well. Thank goodness!

It's Plush, It's Blue what else can you say? My kids were having a Star Wars party and this was one of the toys that was provided for the DVD party. Everyone wanted this particular blue elephant vs the other characters. I should have bought more - even though he was part of Jabba's gang (being a bad guy and all). There was great debate whether Rebo was bad or not because he hangs around bad guys and plays the piano for them. Han Solo with a lightsaber? This is certainly an interesting figure. This version is so different from the Han we know and love that I can't help but love it. LEGO TIE Fighter Review

Being that I didn't get into the Star Wars Lego line until early 2003, I missed out on a huge number of sets. Now, I am not a big fan of re-releases--mainly because I was able to get about 85% of all the Star Wars sets I wanted thanks to [...] anyway, and also because the originals then become sort of obsolete. But the #7146 TIE Fighter was one I failed to obtain (at first; I have it now), and I was glad to see Lego changed almost nothing from the original. And what they did change was for the better (although they did get rid of the Stormtrooper).

The sleek look of the TIE Fighter is exactly the same as before, the colors are all identical, and they enhanced the Vader minifig by giving him an illustrious light-up lightsabre. I believe this was the first set to include that detail. And while they replaced my favorite minifig, the Stormtrooper, with a TIE Pilot, they also did away with that ridiculously unsteady stand thing (the main reason there's 10 fewer pieces on this set). Had they included that again, the durability would've been about a two, at best. The TIE stands better on its own anyway, although it is still a bit unstable. Oh well. Putting this set together took no longer than a half-hour, which is pretty average for a piece count of 159. It was a very easy set to assemble, with most of the building time going into the two (identical) wings.

The TIE Fighter is one of the most recognizable ships in the Star Wars universe, since it appeared in episodes IV-VI and is set to appear yet again in Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. Although I don't consider this set to be part of the Episode III line, it was released at about the same time and compliments a Lego collection very nicely either way. If you already own the original TIE Fighter from back in 2000, ask yourself whether or not a light-up lightsabre is worth the price of an almost-identical set. Otherwise, pick this up before you miss out on it. Again.

Star Wars Episode 3 Electronic Lightsaber Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber Review

"The Return of the Sith" line of lightsaber toys from Hasbro come in three models:

Annakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Yoda.

Each of these toys, beyond the basic 'light up' plus 'battle clash' sound effects (the authentic-sounding effects the lightsabers make when struck against another lightsaber or object), also 'hums' like an activated lightsaber in the movies. Also, each "ROTS" model lightsaber has one special feature:

Comparisons of special features:

Annakin = his saber has a button near the hilt of the plastic blade that transforms the blade's color from blue to red or vice versa. Whatever color you've chosen upon deactivating the saber is the same color that shows up first upon reactivating the toy -- a nice touch.

Obi Wan = his saber has a 'rumble' feature -- a small motor inside the handle -- that vibrates so that the user can supposedly have a more realistic battle experience when the blade strikes other sabers or objects. In practice, the motor tends to make rather too much noise, however the noise is somewhat less discernable when actually pretending to duel others. Unfortunately, the rumble feature is not optional, so it must always be "on."

Yoda = his saber has a "training mode" where in upon striking the blade a small speaker in the handle will say random things Yoda said in "The Empire Strikes Back." It is cute that Yoda's voice is coming from the handle,but in practice the speaker isn't loud enough to hear in the 'heat of combat' and anyway the things yoda says aren't the least bit helpful.

phrases Yoda says in his lightsaber "training mode"

- "you are reckless"
- "fought well you have"
- "you must face vader"
- "concentrate, feel the force flow"
- "remember, a jedi's strength flows from the force."
- "train with me! afraid, are you?"

Thankfully, the "training mode" is optional and can be turned off.

Comparison of blades in practical "play combat"

In practice, Annakin's blade and Obi-Wan's blade are equally matched. Both take 3 'AA' batteries, which last a long time. Both blades are extremely light, which belies their size. Both of these toys are an excellent size and are well priced. They provide a good workout and are a fine alternative to lazy video games. They also improve your reflexes as you both try to reenact the movies and make up your own moves. Even people who are in fine physical condition can easily work up a great sweat when 'play sword fighting.' One of my friends is in fencing at school and he says the colored blade actually is helpful in training, as it forces greater concentration. Also, the sound effects of both Annakin's and Obi Wan's blades are fun and easy to hear. The handle of Obi Wan's blade is slightly more comfortable and the plastic blade shows the color blue better than Annakin's. Annakin's blade offers two colors which is convenient if both you and your friend have the same annakin blade and you want yours to be a little different.

Yoda's blade is inferior to both Annakin's and Obi-wan's. It is shorter (as per the movies) by a full 'segment' or about fifteen centimeters, which on paper seems like a good 'handicap' for a skilled play swordsman against novice friends who have longer blades, but in practice yoda's blade suffers disasterously from its higher weight, bue to its 2 C battery power supply. The blade is seriously unbalanced, as the handle accounts for nearly 3/5 of the total length of the extended toy and it is overweight and uncomfortable to hold besides.As if this weren't enough, the heavier batteries die faster and the plastic used in the green blade is too thick for the bulb to light up in any impressive manner. It always looks a little dim.

the only advantage yoda's blade has is that the retracted blade stays in place if you invert it and clip it to your belt (the other two models slide out easily). This avantage quickly turns to a disadvantage because it is harder to EXtract, too when you want to pretend to go into combat. No matter which blade model you get, none of the blades retract fully into the handle, making each of these toys strictly for play combat and not for imaginative 'props' for a play costume or other imaginative games.

My advice -- buy annakin's or darth vader's blade. Both are light weight and a good sword length and overall superb toys. The batteries last a long time for either. Overall I say I like Obi-Wan's the best, even though it has the annoying rumble feature. It has the best handle comfort, which is what counts when 'playing swords.' Annakin's is good too though, so you can't lose no matter which you get. Get both!

Yoda's blade is clearly inferior and unless you like a heavy uncomfortable blade that's too short to use effectively, avoid it, avoid it, avoid it please.

This toy is fantastic for a lot of reasons.First, you get two, great Star Wars characters in one package.The detail for each one is very good.The accessories that come with them complete them in a nice way.Changing the clothes from one character to another may require the help of an adult.As previous reviewers have mentioned, the boots present the greatest challenge.But, if you read a few of them, you will find that some people have come up with some excellent solutions.The best one I suggest is breathing warm, moist air into the boot and then slip it on.If you use butter, oil, or some other lubricant, you run the risk of staining the rest of the clothing or having a food product spoil on you and then leaving a bad odor.As an action figure, this toy is pretty good for a 12-inch figure.The articulation is good enough to place either of the characters in some dramatic poses and have them displayed.Collectors are wise to purchase this toy as I'm sure its value will increase because of the success of the Episode 3.If there were anything bad to say about this toy, I guess someone might think that the hands for Vader were too big when compared to Anakin's hands.And, that the mask and helmet were a little too big, as well.The helmet also seems like it should have come down closer to his shoulders so it hides more of the details that adorn the back neck area of the mask.But, when you consider the high gloss finish on the helmet, belt, and boots and the fine cloth work done on Anakin's/Vader's cape and costume, the bad things don't seem so bad at all.This item is pretty pricey, but is well worth the money for a true fan or collector.What it may not have in playability, articulation, or action features, it makes up for in its overall appearance.If you find yourself wondering if you should buy it or not, go ahead and do it.You'll be glad you did.

Captain Antilles is the guy who Darth Vader strangles to death while trying to find out where the stolen Death Star plans are near the beginning of STAR WARS. Captain Antilles is also related to the famous X-Wing squadron leader Wedge Antilles, though I'm not sure if he's Wedge's father, uncle, or brother. This figure is one that Star Wars fans have been wanting to see produced for a long time. He is fun to play with and quite durable. About the only drawback is that Captain Antilles has a permanent expression of horror on his face; it's the look of a man being choked to death and knowing there is nothing he can do about it. Captain Antilles comes with a helmet, his blaster,
and a plastic base to stand him on. He's a welcome addition for any Star Wars action figure collection.

Star Wars Darth Vader Deluxe Child Costume Small Review

This was my son's favorite birthday present! This comes in three pieces: the main part of the costume with attached cape, the belt, and the mask. It is not that hard for my son to put on himself. I just have to help him velcro the tab on the back of the neck and tie the belt in the back(because like others have said the velcro on the belt is too far apart to fit snugly).

The size chart I found for this item elsewhere is misleading. It perfectly fits my average sized 5 year old (got this for his 5th birthday). I think it will fit him at least another year, maybe beyond.

It does not come with gloves but he didn't care, he just uses his black batting gloves. I wouldn't worry about getting the gloves so much, but you've GOT to have a red light saber with this one!
